Misadventures in the kitchen for the woefully inadequate!
Inspired partially by a friend's own culinary adventure, and partially by a conversation that arose at lunch today, I have decided that what I really need to do is write a book for those who are pathologically incapable of cooking -- and since that nicely describes my own misadventures in the kitchen, it seems a good match. No doubt -- as with most of my flash-in-the-pan projects -- this will fade into the realm of bad dreams long before it ever approaches completion. Until then, though, I've written my first recipe!
Have you been rummaging deep in the back of your freezer, with depressing results? Got some old chicken breasts slowly turning to wood? How about a packet of frozen vegetables that is more ice than not? Try my Shiitake Chicken, and watch as we once more snatch mild success (defined as "I ate it, and I'm still alive") from the jaws of total defeat.
